Heavy Hair Fall Till Baldness in Men

Most men over forty ask the same question: “What if we have a heavy hair fall?”. Every third person experiences hair loss after a certain age. Both rich and poor cry here: pop stars, public people, representatives of show business, businessmen, politicians do not become an exception. Hair loss is not a surface problem, it is even deeper than the roots of the hair. It is provoked by disorders in the body and external factors. There are many reasons.

FACTORS CAUSING BALDNESS

Hair loss is a disease. It is called alopecia or baldness. Alopecia is androgenetic, symptomatic, diffuse, nesting, focal, cicatricial. The doctor trichologist will be able to answer exactly why the hairline is thinning. But it is well known that the main culprit is testosterone. This is a hormone secreted by the gonads. When released into the blood of its excess amount, a negative effect on the hair. First they become thinner, then a fluff appears on the balding zone. After – bald patches form.

The main causes of hair loss

  • Lifestyle. Bad sleep, irregular working hours, bad habits.
  • Stress.
  • The disease.
  • Temperature differences.
  • Unsuitable cosmetics for hair care.
  • Radiation.

But besides those listed, there are other reasons related to the condition of the skin. Many diseases can provoke this condition. As a result, alopecia areata occurs, which is characterized by partial baldness. Foci appear in different places: on the head and body. In such situations, a cosmetic remedy for hair loss will no longer help – you need to urgently go to the doctor.

In addition to the above, risk factors include genetic predisposition. If in the family one of the relatives bald early, the man will suffer the same fate. During research, scientists discovered a gene called reductase.

It is transmitted from parents and stimulates the conversion of the male sex hormone into dihydrotestosterone. In other words, a biologically active type of testosterone is formed and androgenetic alopecia occurs, associated with blocking the life of the hair follicle in the parietal and frontal zone. As a result, the man begins to bald intensely.

The next reason is hormones. Hormonal bursts lead to baldness. Symptoms may appear even in young men:

  • High fat content.
  • Thinning.
  • Slow hair growth.
  • Uniform prolapse in the parietal and frontal areas.

Diffuse alopecia can begin in the occipital region or along the hairline. Follicles atrophy gradually and are no longer restored. It doesn’t matter what a man is ill with, androgenetic alopecia, or another type of baldness – you need to see a doctor. Based on the tests, the professional will choose the methods and prescribe therapy for hair restoration.

Methods of Struggle : Heavy Hair Fall

Avoid baldness if there is a genetic tendency impossible. But methods have already been found to help slow down and delay the process. These are professional drugs that weaken the effect of testosterone on the follicles. They also use external cosmetics containing estrogen – ampoules for hair. Drug treatment is prescribed by a doctor.

With a tendency to hair loss, it is important not to aggravate the condition, in any way accelerating your testosterone. Still need to control cholesterol. The risk of sudden extreme hair loss increases frequent shampooing. It is necessary to ensure proper hair care, and help with this at the men’s hairdresser.

A qualified master will tell you what shampoos to use for hair loss, how to make strengthening masks against hair loss. Ensure that follicle protecting components are present. You can buy such drugs in our online store. Suitable shampoo for hair and beard brand MONSIEUR BARBIER MONSIEUR BARBIER. The composition prevents loss and stimulates microcirculation. It is used to strengthen hair. They also use spray, balm, hair gel.

High-quality hair vitamins will also help. Experts advise every day, for 10-15 minutes, to intensively rub their heads with a soft terry towel. The result is visible after 2-3 months – less hair climb.

Most use available folk remedies for hair loss – hair oil. Castor, burdock oil and other plants that irritate the skin: pepper, onion, garlic, nettle. Still periodically make moisturizing masks for dry hair. Which ones will be prompted in the FIRM Store Kiev branded barbershop .

Mesotherapy of hair gives excellent results. These are subcutaneous injections that stimulate the bulbs. In rare cases, resort to radical methods – with a high percentage of baldness, a hair transplant is performed.

Follicles are transferred from the occipital region to the lesion. For hair transplantation, you do not need to go to the clinic for a long time. No anesthesia required. Thanks to such operations, men become owners of beautiful, natural and thick hair. This is a chance to give up wigs and again feel like a full-fledged person.

Illnesses that cause hair loss – People with Alopecia

According to statistics , almost 75% of the population of Russia to one degree or another suffer from illnesses that cause hair loss, and nine out of ten patients who came to see a trichologist complain of hair loss.

Moreover, according to the norm, a healthy person loses up to hundreds of hairs per day, and the loss of a larger amount is a pathology and leads to the development of baldness.

Alopecia is a disease characterized by baldness, that is, partial or complete loss of hair on the head. Alopecia is of several types, but the most common of them are two: focal and androgenetic. Alopecia areata occurs most often in women: hair begins to fall out unevenly in large quantities, and the cause of this disease is unclear and cannot be treated.

There is also androgenetic alopecia (mainly found in men), which is inherited and manifests itself gradually – the hair becomes thinner over the years until it stops growing. Distinguish including total and subtotal alopecia. In the first case, a person loses not only the hair on his head, but also his eyebrows and eyelashes, and in the second – only on his head.

The Village met people who live with alopecia, and found out how they cope with their illness and why they consider alopecia to be the lesser evil that they might face.

ACTIVE HAIR LOSS BEGAN when I was 16 years old – then I did not fully believe that it was for a long time. Of course, I was very worried, I didn’t go to school for six months, she waited for me to make a wig on order. Then you still couldn’t just go to the store and buy a suitable wig, you had to find a “donor” who would donate his hair, and then they made a wig from them.

I was very lucky – I have a loving family that supports me in everything. Alone, in principle, it’s hard to cope with any emergency situation, so when there is a loving “incubator” (as I call all my loved ones) that literally helps to stand up after stress and live on, it is priceless.

Besides, I have amazing friends. By the way, my first official recognition in front of my girlfriends occurred when I was 17 years old. It was a pajama party, well, and during the fight with pillows, my wig flew off. The girls did not know how to react, and I did not know whether to cry or to laugh.

The situation was like in a bad comedy. It all ended up that we finally had a heart-to-heart talk, cried together, laughed. I have a girlfriend who now lives in Italy, she specially grew her hair, probably more than a year, then to cut it and send it to me for a wig. When I found out about it, I burst into tears, it was touching.

I started my project two years ago when I realized that there is no open source where you could learn something about the life of people like me. Not just to learn, but also to be inspired. There are closed communities, women hide and are very much afraid that one of their loved ones will find out about their non-standard appearance.

I was deeply shocked by the stories of women who walked and slept in wigs 24 hours a day, and if you shot them, then only in the bathroom and so as not to see yourself in the mirror.

Women are naturally prone to digging themselves. I call this phenomenon “woman and the mirror.” Give the woman a mirror, and she accumulates a huge number of shortcomings, while it does not matter if she is beautiful or not. Interestingly, women are tougher with other women.

Therefore, of course, when something happens with appearance, for a woman this is number one tragedy. They are very afraid to be unattractive. Although from my own experience I can say that men are much easier to relate to.

I had a funny case, I came to an oriental massage somehow, taking off my cap, I warn the massage therapist so as not to be scared: “You know, I have such a feature – I don’t have hair”, to which the massage therapist replies: “Do not worry, this massage will not affect your beautiful appearance. ” That is, he did not even understand why I told him this. In men, it seems to me, other mechanisms of perception of beauty. They feel female energy.

It is very important for me to convey to women who have experienced sudden extreme hair loss that beauty is our internal state. You can imagine this in the form of a light bulb, and while it is not lit, there is no light, there is no heat, but turn it on – and they will fly into your light.

And now our female community is gradually growing, and among us there are amazing women who are beautiful wives, caring mothers, and active people in all aspects of life. And many admit that they very much regret those moments when, instead of living, they closed and suffered.

ANDREI (SASHA’S FATHER): I work as a neurologist and physiotherapist in a clinic. In addition, I am engaged in social activities. My daughter Sasha has alopecia. Before this school year, Sasha went to kindergarten, and now she went to first grade.

Sasha was two years old when the first focus appeared on the back of her head. At first, we did not attach any particular importance to it: we thought that this could be a manifestation of rickets when the area on the back of the head is obliterated. In short, we tried to find the simplest and most understandable explanations for this. They passed tests, but everything turned out to be in order.

Then new foci appeared, gradually they began to grow, and hair began to fall out en masse. We began to undergo regular examinations, according to which, however, no one could say anything. We passed both the genetic analysis and the spectral analysis for toxins – in general, everything was in order, and we did not find any problems.

After this there were periods when the hair fell out and then grew back, but at one fine moment they all fell out and did not appear again. Sasha was then about four years old.

The diagnosis of focal alopecia was made at the pediatric academy and did not raise any doubts. I don’t remember any particularly difficult period in our life in connection with Sasha’s disease. In the kindergarten, children are still small and do not pay attention to anything because they do not know the concepts of “good / bad” and “beautiful / ugly”. It begins with age, when children begin to measure themselves: I have such a jacket, I have such a toy.

Around the same time, they adopt from their parents and society the concepts of what is beautiful and what is not. But they need to explain a lot. If not explained, they begin to invent something of their own. So explaining to a child why someone doesn’t have hair is the primary task of their parents. The most terrible enemies for a child are parents who, because of their ignorance and illiteracy, do unacceptable things.

We began to search for treatment methods – we contacted Germany, we even wrote to the States. In America, there is such an organization for the Children’s Alopecia Project – they are engaged specifically in working with children who are faced with alopecia.

We wrote them a letter, explained the problem and asked for advice. In fact, they replied that there was no cure. Hair can come back, then disappear on its own, but this has nothing to do with the potential use of any drugs.

There are hormonal drugs that can somehow slow down the process of loss. But they have their unpleasant side effects, and no one guarantees the effect of taking such a remedy – it can be at first, but in the future, if the process is started, no one guarantees that the hair will not fall out completely again.

After we realized that there was no effect, and psychologically for the child it only gets worse, we just decided not to use any drugs.

We never tried to hide Sasha’s illness – both relatives and all relatives were calmly told about the problem. Perhaps it’s easier for us, because my wife and I are doctors and, due to greater awareness, we are simply calm about everything. It takes a lot of energy to hide, and the child, meanwhile, feels everything and receives a certain psychological trauma.

So, parents, hiding the disease, do this not for the child, but for themselves – simply because they are afraid of unnecessary questions, afraid that their child is not like the others. But there is no benefit to the child from their secrecy.

What could be worse than closing a person in itself through isolation from others? And other children will always find a reason for bullying: someone wears glasses, someone full, someone has leg problems, someone has squint

We even had no idea to isolate Sasha and go to home schooling. The child is absolutely healthy: he is engaged in sports, and he has no physical abnormalities. There are psychological difficulties. But what could be worse than closing a person in yourself through isolation from others? And other children will always find a reason for bullying: someone wears glasses, someone full, someone has leg problems, someone has strabismus.

Moreover, if the child has a core inside and he can fight back, then everything is quite easily overcome. And if he stumbles into a corner, not finding support in the family, and considers himself flawed, because his parents constantly hide him from everyone – a person grows up with very big psychological problems and complexes that prevent him from fully living and developing.

If the family does not perceive and does not accept, then what is there to talk about? They say that we have a cruel society, but it all starts with the family.

Somehow I had an idea – why not try to get together and communicate with other people with a similar problem. First, we created a group on VKontakte, began to get acquainted, add to each other as friends.

The appearance of our community on Facebook was a very big step – if on VKontakte the circle of people is limited by the Russian-speaking contingent, then Facebook is the whole world.

There are various closed groups there – you are added and you see that there are a lot of people with alopecia and such people live quite calmly, like any others, without restricting themselves to anything. You take a positive example from them.

Plus, meeting offline is really great when hundreds of children with alopecia gather to talk to each other and listen to adults with the same disease. After all, there are Olympic champions with alopecia, there are also famous artists who are not shy to appear in public without wigs – they share their experiences and experiences with children, and, in principle, this is all very powerful psychological support. I can’t imagine any more.

By the arrival of Mary Marshall (a public figure involved in the problems of alopecia and herself suffering from alopecia since she was 40 years old. – Ed.), We had arranged a meeting in Moscow in advance, at which Russian national dishes were prepared, – we arranged a culinary master class.

And then in St. Petersburg, already with the support of an international clinic, we were allocated a large conference room to meet with her.

Friends and relatives also help us. For example, they helped organize a photo shoot with makeup artists, stylists and fashionable clothes. Plus now we are planning to create a team to participate in competitions.

And it’s not necessarily something sports, it could be the game “What? Where? When? ”Or something similar. Just continuing to communicate is really very important – for the first time in life many girls and women take off their wigs, for many of them a new world opens.

It is difficult to imagine, for example, that you have been living for 20 years, putting on a wig every morning since childhood, and constantly afraid that it will fly off or get wet – for a person this is constant stress, one that I don’t know what to compare with.

Best Ways to Stop Heavy Hair Fall

A good hairstyle can dramatically change the look, give the image completeness, hide the imperfections of the face and emphasize the merits. This works for both women and men.

But alas, after 30, not everyone can boast of thick hair. It also happens that you might get a heavy hair fall much earlier – there are cases when people are bald by the age of 20. Alopecia is the scourge of modernity. This disease is getting younger every year. We suggest you find out the causes of baldness and several effective ways to deal with it.

Why do women lose hair Hair

It’s natural. On average, a woman loses about 80 hair daily. But if you suddenly noticed that recently there is more hair on a comb or pillow than usual, it is worth exploring the possible causes of hair loss. This is what trichologists say about this.

Genetics

Your hair may be genetically predisposed to thin. This leads to a gradual decrease in volume and active loss. Pay attention to the hair condition of older relatives to find out for sure.

Physical damage

Lovers of frequent thermal styling risk losing an impressive part of the hair volume. Even if you use thermal protection (spray, cream), your hair loses a lot of moisture. They become weak, fall out more actively, acquire a porous structure, fluff.

Hair is sensitive to climate change. They should be protected from both low temperatures and direct sunlight. Hormonal imbalance One of the most common causes of alopecia is hormonal imbalance, which can be caused by thyroid diseases, pregnancy, and hormone-containing medications, including birth control pills, and other malfunctions in the body.

Hormones that affect hair growth in women

Testosterone growth hormone thyroid hormones prolactin progesterone melatonin Stress response Telogen effluvium or hair loss in the telogen stage (dormancy stage of the hair follicle) can be caused by psychological shock. This may be a lack of sleep, an upcoming surgical operation, an accident.

Even angina or SARS can cause stress loss leading to hair loss. Intoxication Hair can fall out due to heavy metal poisoning (salts of heavy metals with a specific gravity of more than 6): lead, mercury, cadmium, gold, thallium and another 35 chemical elements. Smokers are at particular risk.

The editors of uznayvse.ru advise you to check the side effects of the medications you take. As a rule, “hair loss” is on this list for diuretics and laxatives, beta-blockers, antipsychotics, drugs with a high content of vitamin A, drugs for oncotherapy. However, in no case do not cancel the medicine without the knowledge of your doctor. Any Strict diet is stress for the body. Lack of important nutrients leads to vitamin deficiency and vitamin deficiency causes hair loss.

These vitamins and microelements especially influence hair growth: Iron. This element is actively involved in the construction of hair cells. Fe deficiency occurs with internal bleeding, after childbirth, abortion, with a vegetarian diet, an excess of vitamin E, the presence of parasites. B12 The lack of this vitamin has a sad effect on the general tone of the body: a woman constantly feels tired, hair falls out as a “bonus”.

This is because D 12 is responsible for transporting oxygen to tissues. At risk are vegetarians and vegans, as the main source of this vitamin is animal protein. Age Shortly before menopause, hair begins to thin and fall out.

It is important to understand that this is a natural aging process. Why do hair fall in men? Men are more susceptible to hair loss than women – 70% versus 40%. The causes of hair loss in the stronger sex are similar to those that we described above (see “Why do women have hair loss”), however, male alopecia has its own characteristics.

Hormones Men begin to go bald earlier. This is directly related to testosterone, a traditionally “male” hormone synthesized in testicles and affecting secondary sexual characteristics, sex drive, and the ability to increase muscle mass. More precisely, with one of the active forms of testosterone – DHT (dihydrotestosterone). Recent studies have shown follicles do not respond to “classic” testosterone.

When does DHT affect hair loss? The level of DHT in the blood exceeds the norm. This occurs when the 5-alpha reductase enzyme, which promotes the conversion of testosterone to DHT, becomes more active, due to which more testosterone is transformed into DHT, an excess is observed. Once in the follicles, the hormone contributes to their dystrophy.

Bulbs do not receive the necessary amount of nutrients, hair weakens and falls out. The level of DHT is normal, however, the level of sensitivity of the hair follicles to this hormone (namely, this indicator is inherited by the man) may be too high. In areas where bald patches are formed, bulbs have more receptors responsible for the perception of DHT. Genetics Scientists have found the so-called “baldness gene” – Soh21.

It is he who is responsible for the conversion of testosterone to DHT. It is transmitted through the maternal line: from father to daughter, from her to her son. That is, to assess the prospects of your hair, you should not look at your father, but at your grandfather from the mother. Skin fat Alopecia can be the result of oily seborrhea. The scalp in men secretes sebum more actively than in women. Fat mixes with keratinized skin particles.

This substance clogs the pores and openings of the follicles, and also serves as a breeding ground for the fungus. Under the influence of these factors, the hair begins to fall out. How to stop hair loss With the onset of alopecia, you should immediately contact a professional trichologist. But if you want to prevent baldness or use alternative methods for treating alopecia at home in addition to drug therapy (of course, after consulting a doctor), we offer several effective ways to stop hair loss.

Consume more protein Protein is the building material of our body. This also works for hair. Nutritionists recommend consuming an average of 120 grams of protein per day, preferably in the morning and afternoon meals. Keep an eye on the diet Try to exclude trans fats and saturated fats and fast carbohydrates from your diet, replacing them with monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats and slow carbohydrates.

Try to avoid more than 4 hours between full meals. If this is not possible, have a bite to eat with fresh fruits and whole grains. Take vitamins Pay attention to the complexes of vitamins and minerals containing iron, zinc, copper, selenium, vitamins C, B12, D3, as well as amino acids l-lysine and l-methionine. Or eat more foods containing these substances.

Know the measure when laying We’ll have to say goodbye (at least for a while) to styling using varnish, mousse, foam and other hair gluing products. Also avoid greasy “rinse-offs” that add extra weight to the hairstyle. Give up bad habits First of all, from cigarettes, coffee and strong tea. This will increase the level of the hormone somatotropin and improve the digestibility of proteins.

Go to bed earlier The hormone melatonin, which the body produces in a dream, affects hair growth. It begins to be produced at about 8 pm, and the peak falls on the time from midnight to 4 am. So by 12 o’clock in the morning it would be good to sleep already, and in complete darkness.

Melatonin, which is often called the “health hormone”, affects overall well-being, helps to lose weight and feel alert. Protect your hair from the weather For hair, both low and high temperatures are equally dangerous.

Dry scalp needs care as dry scalp causes hair loss

If you ignore the problem, except for itching and dandruff – which in itself is already unpleasant – there is a risk of developing inflammatory diseases.

Dry scalp gives girls no less problems than oily. Since it is constantly in an over-dried state, there is an uncomfortable feeling of tightness of the epidermis. The skin itches, the hair is electrified, the ends are split. And dandruff also appears.

Which leads to increased dryness of the scalp and then that dry scalp causes hair loss. So how to deal with it, I will tell you in the material.

REASONS FOR DRY HEAD SKIN

Dry scalp is characterized by a violation of the integrity of the hydrolipidic mantle. This means that the surface of the epidermis is covered with an uneven or insufficiently dense water-fat layer, which has an antibacterial, water-retaining and wound healing effect.

If oily skin suffers from an excess of sebum, then dry skin – from its lack, since in this case the sebaceous glands work in a “sleeping” mode. This condition is called dry seborrhea. As a result, the surface of the skin is covered with a thin film that tightens the epidermis.

Symptomatically this manifests itself in the form of itching, local redness or inflammation, brittleness and dullness of hair, active peeling of dead cells.

What causes dry scalp?

One of the most common causes is a genetic predisposition. In this case, a girl from a teenage age notices such a feature and in every possible way tries to fight it. However, other factors can dry out the skin. I highlight the following:

  • hormonal imbalance;
  • psoriasis, dermatitis, fungal diseases;
  • endocrine diseases (disorders of the thyroid gland);
  • diseases of the gastrointestinal tract and nervous system;
  • solar radiation;
  • unbalanced nutrition;
  • the use of inappropriate shampoo that contains aggressive surface-active substances (surfactants);
  • washing hair with hot water;
  • frequent hair coloring with dyes containing ammonia;
  • the use of styling products, hair dryers, irons;
  • seasonality, climate change.

Long-term neglect of the symptoms of dry scalp can lead to the development of inflammatory skin diseases. Since cracks are often observed on the overdried epidermis, into which not only dust and dirt microparticles fall, but also bacteria. Also, with increased dryness of the scalp, dandruff and sudden extreme hair loss (or thinning) are observed.

HOW TO FIGHT WITH DRYNESS

When it comes to congenital dryness of the scalp, the trichologist selects suitable skin care products that will help moisturize the epidermis and restore the integrity of the hydrolipidic film.

If we are talking about acquired dryness, it is necessary to establish the reason that provoked this phenomenon. As a rule, for this, a comprehensive examination is performed at several doctors. In the presence of internal diseases, the patient is prescribed complex treatment therapy. In the case when dryness is associated with improper care, I recommend that you follow some rules.

First, you need to purchase a mild sulfate-free shampoo for dry type of scalp with a moisturizing or regenerating effect. It should not contain parabens, silicones, phthalates, polymers, keratin.

Desired ingredients: squalane, collagen, hyaluronic acid, hinoktiol, proteins, apigenin, betaine, panthenol, caffeine, chamomile, burdock, rosemary, peppermint, lemon, pomegranate, rose, tea tree oil, jojoba, shea, orange, hemp seeds, sunflower, olive, lactic or salicylic acid, vitamins E, C, minerals (zinc, magnesium, silicon). You can wash your hair as it gets dirty using slightly warm water. The ideal temperature is 40-45 degrees.

Secondly, I recommend purchasing a moisturizing serum for the scalp. It will enhance the effect of moisturizing shampoo. Do not forget to use masks, conditioners or balms. With dry scalp, the hair does not receive enough nutrients, so it easily breaks and splits. These tools make combing easier.

It is also allowed to use natural oil, for example, chamomile, argan or a mixture of different oils. It should be applied to dry skin 2-3 times a month, rubbing into the stratum corneum with light massage movements. The oil is left on the skin for 30-40 minutes, after which you can start using shampoo.

If desired, natural oils can also be used when caring for dry tips. As a rule, they are applied to wet, well-washed tips, sometimes to dry ones (it all depends on the manufacturer).

Thirdly, do not forget to make light enzymatic peels of the scalp. With increased dryness, keratinized scales do not linger on the head. They constantly crumble, resembling dandruff, because they can not mix with sebum. By the way, dandruff may also be present.
